A landscape company with offices in several Southeastern states soon will be moving to Forsyth County.

Over the next few weeks, Russell Landscape Group Inc. will be relocating its office in northern Fulton County into a facility in south Forsyth.

Bob Russell, chief operations officer of the company, said it recently leased a 27,000-square-foot facility on Pendley Road.

“It worked out well for us because we were trying to look at McFarland [Parkway] as a first option, but the availability of what we were finding was much higher prices and the square footage was less so this worked out extremely well,” he said.

Russell Landscape Group, which specializes in services for commercial clients such as homeowners associations, condominiums and industrial parks, has several offices in Georgia, as well as Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Founded by Russell and his brother William in 1987, the company employs about 250 people.

Bradley Griffin, vice president of operations, said the company signed a five-year lease on the building.

“We’ve had about a week to start cleaning,” Griffin said. “We’re hoping to be complete by the first week of November, which gives us about three weeks to have everything moved over here.”

According to information from the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, which helped the company find the location, the move will generate about 50 new jobs and about $20,000 in capital investment.

Russell said the site will house several employees and about 15 trucks that are currently at their location near Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta.

He said the company wanted to move that office into Forsyth for more space.

“The location we have [in Alpharetta] is a great location, but it’s very limited,” he said. “That facility is probably half the size of [the Pendley Road] location and the parking lot is probably one-third the size, so [the trucks] are like sardines in a can there.”

Griffin said Forsyth provides a more centralized location, as well.

“Forsyth is great because from here we can service part of Gwinnett, right across the river, Hall County, Fulton and even Cherokee,” he said. “It’s nice and centrally located.”
