A south Forsyth private school has been reaccredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Pinecrest Academy, a Catholic school serving pre-kindergarten through 12thgrades, received the reaccreditation, which is good for five years, after a three-day site visit in November.

According to a news release from the school, the reaccreditation team analyzed financial, academic and strategic planning and progress.

The team also conducted numerous interviews with a range of stakeholders in the school community.

Among the strengths cited by the team were Pinecrest’s academic excellence and its ability to foster and maintain Catholic identity.

The school also was praised for its gender separate education on a coeducational campus and its strong financial footing, according to the news release.

Father Robert Presutti, head of the school, said in a statement that the reaccreditation process is affirming for the school.

“This accreditation reports confirms Pinecrest’s strong overall program and that the school is becoming a leader in the region,” he said.
