One of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce’s most popular events will be held Tuesday.

Frank Norton Jr. will present his predictions for Forsyth and surrounding counties during the 2013 Economic Outlook Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. in the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

President of the Gainesville-based Norton Agency real estate and insurance firm, Norton is an expert on the north Georgia area.

Each year he authors Native Intelligence, an economic forecast that provides data on a range of topics, including housing and job markets.

Laura Stewart, director of communications and events for the chamber, said Norton always a draws a crowd.

“He uses his Native Intelligence report and so it’s kind of predictions that he makes based on data that they’ve collected over the past year,” she said. “He’s done this for us for several years and people seem to find it valuable.”

According to Stewart, many people use the breakfast as an informative opportunity.

“I think it’s kind of the event that people use to really kick off their year,” she said. “It provides them with information they’ll use throughout the rest of the year when they’re doing business or even just for personal use.”

The breakfast has drawn sellout crowds in years past, so Stewart encouraged people to register online or call the chamber by the end of the day Friday.

Cost is $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members, and includes breakfast by Tam’s Backstage Restaurant.

“We’ve been really booming [with R.S.V.P.s] and I think it’s going to be close to if not a sellout again this year,” Stewart said.

“It’s a great way to start off the year and get ready to start doing business.”
