Lynn Gilder loves classic cars.

And after three successful years helping organize the Forsyth County Schools Food and Nutrition Services’ Relay for Life Car Show, she’s excited to see so many others who share her passion.

The fourth annual show is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Forsyth County Board of Education Building, 1120 Dahlonega Hwy.

It will feature dozens of classic and unique cars, food, family activities and music.

Typically there are anywhere from 70 to 100 vehicles in the show, but “with it being so pretty this weekend, we’re hoping we’ll beat that this year,” Gilder said.

Trophies will be given for the top 25 cars as well as a people’s choice award for best in show.

Gilder said all the money raised from concessions and car entries goes toward the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. About $3,000 was donated last year and Gilder is hoping to increase that.

“It’s fun, it’s good for the community and normally it does pretty well,” she said. “We have fun activities for the family. But a lot of times, they just like walking around and looking at the cars.”

A $20 donation is required to enter a vehicle, with the money going toward Relay for Life. If it rains, the show will be held March 23.
