West Forsyth’s girls lacrosse team ran its win streak to five games with a 15-4 area victory over North Forsyth on Monday at Raider Valley.

The Lady Wolverines also picked up a 13-9 win over Etowah in the Forsyth-Cherokee Challenge on Saturday at Wolverine Stadium.

Cece Bailey, Hannah Supik, Monica Martelli and Haley Hess all turned in hat tricks for West (9-1, 4-1 Area 3-AAAAAA) against North.

Bailey and Supik tallied all of their goals in the first half, leading the Lady Wolverines to a 9-3 advantage at halftime.

Hess scored all of her goals in the second half and Martelli added two of her three after the break to finish off the win.

The Lady Wolverines’ victory over Etowah required a little more work.

West jumped out to a 7-2 lead at halftime and widened the gap to 10-3 early in the second half before the Eagles mounted a late charge and closed within three goals.

"I think in the first half we were a little more composed on the offensive end," West head coach Dan Kaplan said. "... We got through our offensive sets a little quicker. We came out really hard in the second half in the first five minutes and scored three quick goals.

"I’m really proud of our defense in one way ... their goals were all free position shots that were caused by our fouls. If we’d moved our feet a little bit better on our defense ... I don’t think the game is as close."

Supik finished with four goals and Hess added three.

"I think our main strength is that we play good as a team," Supik said.

"Individual talent is good, but we play well as a team in transition and helping each other out."

North will host Johns Creek today at 6 p.m.

West is scheduled to play at Collins Hill on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
