Man sentenced in child porn case

Faced charges in two counties

POSTED: April 4, 2013 12:29 a.m.

A Forsyth County man will serve three years in prison and 17 on probation for child pornography charges.

Nicholas Sullivan, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of children March 28 in Forsyth County Superior Court.

His sentence will run concurrent to that of a case in Hall County, for which he received 20 years for four counts of sexual exploitation of children. He got credit for time served since his February 2011 arrest.

According to his Forsyth County sentence, Sullivan must also complete 120 hours of community service within a year and pay a fine of $3,230.

He is also subject to all sex offender provisions.

Sullivan was indicted on 32 counts in Hall County, where he lived in December 2010 at the time of the investigation.

He later moved to Forsyth, where he was charged for explicit movies and images on his computer when he was arrested by Gainesville police in February 2011.

Sullivan entered a non-negotiated guilty plea in Hall County Superior Court on June 26.

That sentence included the provision that he must undergo a psychosexual exam within 60 days of release from custody and complete any recommended treatment.
