A former Forsyth County Schools paraprofessional has been indicted on two counts of sexual battery against a child younger than 16 and one count of simple battery.

The Forsyth County Grand Jury handed down the indictment for Marvin Shane Pilcher, 26, on Monday.

Pilcher, who worked at Riverwatch Middle School, was arrested in December following a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office investigation.

The indictment accuses Pilcher of “intentionally mak[ing] physical contact with the intimate body parts” of two boys under the age of 16 in October or November.

The charge of simple battery arises from an incident in early February 2012 during which Pilcher allegedly placed his hand “upon the upper thigh” of a boy in “an insulting and provoking nature,” according to the indictment.

It is not stated in the indictment whether the boys were students or where the alleged incidents occurred within Forsyth County.

The investigation began in December after a Riverwatch Middle student alerted school officials.

Pilcher’s employment was terminated following the investigation.

A South Forsyth High School graduate, he had worked for the school system since 2009 as a teacher’s assistant for special education and a certified paraprofessional.

A cached online document of school clubs on Riverwatch’s site listed Pilcher as the sponsor for its chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as did the Forsyth-Dawson FCA Web site.

Two days after his arrest, Pilcher was released from the Forsyth County Detention Center after posting a $5,610 bond.

Superior Court Judge David Dickinson has been assigned the case. No court date has been set.
