A 53-year-old Forsyth County man has died of injuries suffered in a wreck involving a dump truck Monday afternoon in north Forsyth.

Jeffrey Noda of Bennett Road died at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he had been flown after the collision, according to Forsyth County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Courtney Spriggs.

Spriggs said the collision occurred about 3:30 p.m. at Chattahoochee and Shady Grove roads. Noda was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado that turned left in front of a county-owned dump truck.

The driver of the dump truck, Joel Edmondson of Cumming, was taken by ambulance to Northside Hospital-Forsyth for treatment of minor injuries, according to Spriggs.

No charges have been filed in connection with the collision.

The Shady Grove incident was one of three wrecks Monday, two of which occurred about the same time and involved serious injuries in different parts of the county.

The second, which also happened about 3:30 p.m., occurred on Bethelview Road near Hwy. 20.

Spriggs said the report from that wreck was not complete as of Tuesday afternoon, but that it had involved three vehicles.

“Vehicle three was headed one way on Bethelview and the other two cars were headed the other way,” she said. “Vehicle two stopped to turn and vehicle one, the driver who’s at fault, didn’t see that the other driver was stopping.”

She said that driver then swerved to avoid rear-ending the other vehicle and went into the opposite lane of traffic, where it struck the third vehicle head on.

A male passenger in the vehicle that was struck was flown to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his face, hip and intestines, Spriggs said.

A female passenger in the same vehicle was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital with injuries to her ribs and spleen.

As of Tuesday, Spriggs said both of the injured were listed in stable condition.

A third, less severe collision happened about 4 p.m. Monday near Six Mile Creek Bridge on Hwy. 369 in northeastern Forsyth.

That incident involved a state Department of Natural Resources vehicle and minor injuries.

Spriggs said that wreck is being handled by the Georgia State Patrol, whose officials could not be reached for comment.
