Eleven-year-old junior golfer Erica Scutt, who plays out of Olde Atlanta Golf Club in Forsyth County, finished in second place at the local qualifying site to earn one of two spots in the upcoming "Drive, Chip and Putt" regional competition at Atlanta Athletic Club.

Scutt, who will be entering fifth grade, competed against other 10 and 11 year olds in the inaugural competition sponsored by the Augusta National Foundation, the PGA and the USGA.

The local competition with boys and girls in separate divisions covered four age groups from 7 to 15 and was conducted June 25 at Rivermont Golf & Country Club in Johns Creek. It is one of 110 local qualifying locations around the country.

Scutt will be back in competition at Atlanta Athletic Club on August 5, one of 11 regional sites nationwide. The winner from each region heads to the Championship Final Round at Augusta National Golf Club next April.
