If Sunday activities require taking Ga. 400 to Atlanta, plan for a later start.

The Ga. 400 Hospitality Highway Bike Ride will mark its fifth year, taking cyclists down the corridor to raise money and awareness for fighting childhood obesity.

Beginning at the Holcomb Bridge exit at 7 a.m., cyclists will be on Ga. 400 south for about 30 minutes.

The group will leave the corridor at the Northridge exit, at which time it should reopen.

Spokesman Eric Broadwell said nearly 1,200 riders participated in last year’s event.

“It was bikes as far as you could see on Ga. 400,” he said.

After the trek along Ga. 400, the group will ride “the most beautiful roads to ride through north Fulton, Forsyth and Cherokee” counties, he said.

This year there are multiple distance rides, ranging from 9 miles up to 101 miles, with seven rest stops along the way.
