When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at Jock Hornor Field in Gainesville.

Records, rankings: Pinecrest is 2-1 and unranked in Class 1A; Lakeview is 0-2 and unranked in Class 1A.

Series history: Pinecrest leads 1-0.

Last meeting: Pinecrest won 30-20 in 2012.

What to know: This game won’t count in the GHSA standings and won’t be factored into playoff calculations by MaxPreps since Lakeview backed out of playing a region schedule after the contract was signed last year.

Neither team has proved much early in the season, but Pinecrest’s win against Mt. Vernon last week was its most impressive, winning 21-8 behind bulldozing fullback Andrew Wilborn. The senior broke the school rushing record with 208 yards on 38 carries.

The Paladins will be without starting quarterback Jake Mangan, who left last week with a broken collarbone. Pinecrest will now turn to freshman Ryan McCarthy again to guide the offense. McCarthy started Week 2.
