Prep football: North Springs at Forsyth Central

Bulldogs look to snap 8-game losing streak

POSTED: October 3, 2013 3:29 p.m.

When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at Forsyth County Stadium in Cumming.

Records, rankings: North Springs is 1-3 and unranked in Class 5A; Central is 0-4 and unranked in Class 5A.

Series history: Central leads 5-2.

Last meeting: Central won 40-6 in 2012.

What to know: Central should win its first game of the season against a hapless North Springs team. The Spartans, not counting forfeit wins, have only won one game since 2008. Their only victory came in September against Class 2A Hapeville Charter 35-34, breaking a 41-game losing streak.

North Springs has been outscored this season by a combined 100 points through four games, so the Central offense won’t have trouble finding the end zone. The Bulldogs are coming off their best offensive performance of the season with 28 points and should easily top that tonight.

Central has a history of dominating North Springs, winning its last three games in the series by an average score of 36-2.
