Prep football: Centennial at Lambert

Chance to get back to .500 for Longhorns

Records, rankings: Centennial is 1-4 overall, 1-1 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked; Lambert is 2-3, 1-1 and unranked.

Series record: Centennial leads 1-0.

Last meeting: Centennial won 26-7 in 2012.

What to know: Lambert got the win it desperately needed against North Forsyth to keep its season afloat. The Longhorns must now prevent against a letdown as Centennial comes to town. The Knights are dreadful on defense, allowing a region-worst 43.4 points per game.

Lambert’s offense is averaging a region-worst 14.8 points per game and will have an excellent opportunity to fix its woes. The Longhorns need quarterback Tucker Maxwell to limit turnovers and manage the game. Tailback Kameron Pickett must follow up his 92-yard rushing performance against North for Lambert to record its third win.
