Doggie Palooza set for Saturday

POSTED: October 11, 2013 12:22 a.m.

Rucker Horse & Pet is opening its doors Saturday to all dogs and their owners for the sixth annual Doggie Palooza, an event that raises money for the local humane society.

“Rucker’s does so much for the Humane Society of Forsyth County and dog lovers of the area,” said Kelly Woodall, owner of Happy Dogs Play and Stay. “We love being able to support them in return and attend such a fun event.”

Happy Dogs is one of the vendors participating in the event, which also features a variety of contests, vendors, games and a police dog demonstration.

New this year is the parade of breeds, for which 15 dogs will be chosen to show off their best attributes.

Dixie Dock Dogs will be at the pool for attendees to test their dog’s ability to jump. Also, low-cost vaccinations and heartworm tests will also be available.

The event is set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Rucker Horse & Pet, 3540 Keith Bridge Road. Sign-up for all contests begins at 11 a.m. A full list of contests can be found at www.ruckerpet.com.
