A south Forsyth restaurant will continue its tradition of giving to worthy causes next week.

Norman Landing’s Restaurant, 365 Peachtree Pkwy., will hold its fall ping pong tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Owner Bill Norman said Tuesday’s competition will focus on singles play, while Wednesday will be doubles.

Tuesday is single elimination, while Wednesday is double.

The tournaments are held at least twice a year, with funds always going to a different charitable cause.

“This time that will be United Way of Forsyth County because that’s my favorite charity,” Norman said.

Cost to participate in the tournament, which will be the 35thfor the eatery, is $20 per person and everyone who takes part will receive a hat and T-shirt, Norman said. Prizes will include gift certificates to the restaurant.

He said even if people don’t play, they are welcome to watch and donate to the cause.

“We always have a lot of fun,” he said. “Wednesday will be the first night of the World Series, so we’ll have that on and good food, so everyone should come out.”

Over the nearly 18 years Norman has been holding ping pong tournaments, the events have raised more than $200,000 for various causes.
