South tops on SAT

With a combined average of 1,580 from its five high schools, the Forsyth County school system recently earned the highest SAT score in Georgia.

South Forsyth led the way, posting the county’s highest average to date, at 1,668 out of a possible 2,400 points. That score ranked 11th in the state among individual schools.

School Superintendent Buster Evans and James McCoy, president of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, visited the campus on Monday to present the system’s 2013 2400 Challenge Cup and Great Gains Trophy to Principal Jeff Cheney and several students.
