Prep football: Chattahoochee at West Forsyth

Wolverines seek fourth straight win

POSTED: October 24, 2013 4:40 p.m.

When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at The Den in Cumming.

Records, rankings: Chattahoochee is 3-4 overall, 1-3 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked; West is 5-2, 3-1 and unranked.

Series history: Chattahoochee leads 1-0.

Last meeting: Chattahoochee won 29-28.

What to know: West quarterback Hampton McConnell has the team moving at full speed. The junior was 10-for-14 and threw for 202 yards last week in a rivalry win over North, while running back Trevor O’Brien did his part with 78 yards on 12 carries. The Wolverines have also shown improvement on the defensive side of the ball, giving up fewer points each week for the past three games.

Chattahoochee dealt West its only loss of the regular season last year and will aim for a similar result behind senior quarterback Taz Wilson. The Cougars average 24.4 points per game on offense and might still need help to keep pace with West.
