Forsyth Central boys basketball ran into a hot-shooting Creekview team in a 69-48 loss Friday in a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. A game at home.

The Bulldogs (8-14, 2-10) couldn’t stop the Grizzlies (9-12, 6-5), who made seven 3-pointers and had four players score in double figures, led by Austin Graham’s 22 points. Jesse Wood added 14 points for Creekview, while Bennett Gibbs and Jarred Johnson each had 11.

"They just made the shots," Central coach Greg Dirst said, "and we couldn’t knock down shots."

Jeremiah Jones led Central with 17 points and eight rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter, and Cale Jackson had 10 points and six rebounds, but the Bulldogs couldn’t match Creekview’s shooting, particularly Graham.

He made one of his two 3s to give Creekview its first double-digit lead at 38-28 with 4:36 left in the third quarter. When Jackson answered with a transition lay-up, Graham responded with a tough jumper in the lane.

Later in the third, Jon Richards pulled Central within 42-33 on a put-back lay-up, but Wood answered with a put-back of his own and Graham hit another tough jump shot despite tight defense from the Bulldogs.

"At practice, [Coach Dirst] always says keep your hand up in front of them and their shot has a better chance of not going in," Jones said. "When it goes in you kind of shake your shoulders."
