South Gwinnett  at South Forsyth

When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at South Forsyth High School in Cumming.

Records, seedings: South Gwinnett is 16-11 and the No. 3 seed from Region 8-AAAAAA; South is 23-5 and the No. 2 seed from Region 6.

What to know: If South Gwinnett has one thing, it’s height. The Lady Comets have four players who are 5-foot-11 or taller in Taylor Harris, Arielle Harvey, Asheika Alexander and Alexis Lewis. Harris, Harvey and senior Kierra Clayton were the only returning players for first-year coach Kidada Holtzclaw, who led the Alcovy girls to the Class AAAA Final Four and played at Alabama.

If South Forsyth has one thing, it’s depth. Beyond sophomore guard and Maryland commit Sarah Myers, who averages 20.4 points per game, the Lady War Eagles have six players who average anywhere between 8.2 and 4.1 points. Key among those have been senior Ashlee Hannan, juniors Shelby Threlkeld and Ally Welch, sophomore KK Storms and freshmen Caroline Diem and Mari Jonassen. That depth has helped South reach its second straight state tournament.

What’s next: The winner plays the Walton-Norcross winner.
