PARKVIEW AT SOUTH FORSYTH

When, where: Tonight, 6:30 p.m., at the Eagles Nest in Cumming.

Records, seedings: Parkview is 27-3 and the No. 2 seed from Region 8-AAAAAA; South Forsyth is 25-5 and the No. 2 seed from Region 6.

What to know: Maybe McEachern is the only team that could rival the Lady Panthers in terms of returning talent this season. It begins with senior guard and South Alabama signee Genesis Perrymond, continues with junior 6-foot-3 center Vickie Harris and a large group of juniors and sophomores. Together they held on for a 35-32 victory over Mountain View to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2012.

South is making its first quarterfinals appearance in the program’s 25-year history, and the Lady War Eagles proved it isn’t afraid of the state’s juggernaut programs after knocking off defending champion Norcross in a 62-50 overtime win Monday on the road. South sophomore guard Sarah Myers led the way with 22 points, but the Lady War Eagles’ tough defense and clutch free throw shooting (15-for-19 in overtime) really stood out.

What’s next: The winner will play the Douglas County-McEachern winner.
