A months-long drug investigation culminated in two separate raids on opposite ends of the county that resulted in the arrests of eight people on methamphetamine charges.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, suspected methamphetamine was found at both locations, 5255 Club Drive in north Forsyth and 325 Brandywine Circle in south Forsyth.

At the latter address, investigators found about 77 grams of suspected methamphetamine, as well as 1 gram of cocaine and 4 grams of marijuana.

The search also turned up packaging materials, digital scales, pipes and other drug-related items, according to the sheriff’s office.

Six of the eight suspects were arrested May 7 at the Brandywine Circle home.

According to the sheriff’s office, they included Noe Hernandez-Mendez, 28, and Sonia Coronado, 24, who each face two counts of sale of methamphetamine and one count of trafficking in methamphetamine.

Also charged were Alex Gonzalez, 28, for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and Rigoberto Alvarado, 32, Juan Bernal, 27, and Vicente Garcia, 24, who each face possession of methamphetamine.

As a result of the search at the Club Drive home, the sheriff’s office said 25-year-old Patrick Mendez and Salena Ramirez-Montoya, 19, were each charged with possession of methamphetamine.

According to Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, the investigation began with some information concerning one of the homes.

“From that, we started an investigation, surveillance and some other techniques,” he said. “And once we executed the search warrant on one home, the information inside — which matched other information we already had — led us to the second home.”
