American Legion Post 307, Auxiliary officers installed

CUMMING — Department of Georgia Vice Commander Thom Mash, front center in gray suit, installed American Legion Post 307 Commander Randy McGhee, to his left, and fellow officers for the 2014-15 year during a ceremony Aug. 11 at the Georgia National Guard Armory on Aquatic Circle in Cumming.

Legion membership is open to any veteran who served during a wartime period.

The local post meets at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of the month at the armory, 100 Aquatic Circle. For information Please contact the Post at www.americanlegionpost307.org.

Officers for American Legion Auxiliary Unit 307 were installed by Susie Mash, past department president.

Officers for 2014-15 include first row, from left: Lucille Nuber, chaplain; Marian Rosswaag, treasurer; Pauline McKinny, first vice president; Mash; and Phyllis Singleton, unit president; and second row: Lola Kearney, sergeant at arms; Susan Youdell, secretary; Nona Hamilton, historian; Fran Montgomery, second vice president.

In addition, the unit swept district and state awards and was named tops in Georgia.

The unit was presented the General Excellence Tray, acknowledging its accomplishments.

Presentations for the best unit member in the district went to Nuber and best unit president of the district went to Singleton.
