FORSYTH COUNTY — There’s still time to sign up for a booth at this year’s Business Expo, presented by the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and title sponsor the Forsyth County News.

The annual event is set for 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

Jason Mock, director of the chamber’s Small Business Services Center, said just a few of the 66 booths remain available.

“There’s still opportunity for businesses to get a booth if they would like,” Mock said. “We are filling up, but there is an opportunity there if they would like to reserve a spot by the end of this week.”

Mock is aiming for that deadline, although he said he could fill open spots through Aug. 27.

“We’ll make anything happen,” he said. “We’ll work with any business out there, but we would like to have everything in place by the end of this week.”

There are two pricing levels. Regular booths are $500, while “premium” booths are $600. Mock said premium booths are located in higher traffic areas, such as close to the entrance and near a new lounge area in the middle of the expo floor.

According to Mock, another change this year is the elimination of a pre-expo luncheon with guest speaker.

“This year’s event will be straight networking of businesses to businesses, and businesses to the community,” he said.

The event draws hundreds of people from the community, who can enter the event at no charge and make their way from booth to booth. In addition, from 4 to 6 p.m. Expo After Hours will be held.

“That’s when some of our local restaurants will come out and we’ll have beer and wine for folks, so it should be a good time,” Mock said.

“People are excited about the expo and looking forward to having a fun day of businesses gathered together, of seeing what new businesses are opening up and seeing what new products people are offering.”
