Two injured in Matt Highway wreck
Matt Highway was closed for about an hour

Two drivers were seriously injured when their vehicles, a Mercedes SUV and a Dodge minivan crashed head-on on Matt Highway just west of McBrayer Road at about 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Division Chief Jason Shivers with the Forsyth County Fire Department said that both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and had to be cut out by rescuers.  According to Shivers, both drivers were in serious to critical condition when they were taken to the hospital.  Matt Highway was closed for about an hour as the victims were freed and the crash investigated.

A dog riding in the Mercedes was killed in the crash, which is under investigation by the Forsyth County Traffic Specialist unit.
