Letter to the editor
On Mother’s Day, May 10, 2009, I became seriously ill with a life threatening condition. Around 7 p.m. my son called 911 and in what seemed like only seconds an ambulance was at my house and rushed me to Northside Hospital-Forsyth.

I realize the widening of 141 is a major highway change and undertaking, but the progress is extremely slow. Many days no one is working anywhere along the stretch.  I am originally from St. Louis and Fred Weber could be a major interstate in less time then it has taken to widen 141 up to this point.

County has much to address in latest audit
The Forsyth County Commission, based on findings of an outside audit of the county’s business practices, has voted unanimously to ask the U.S. Department of Justice to look at questionable financial dealings from the past in the county’s election office.

After attending the commissioners meeting yesterday, Thursday, June 18, I became confused.  Is funding for the two recreation centers being tabled with the thoughts of allocating those funds to the purchase of the Lanier Golf Course and making a park and recreation center there?

As a member of a patriotic family that flies our Stars and Stripes daily, 24/7, I take heart in the many flags that are being raised around our community. I also see that a couple of etiquette questions need to be answered.
