Since I haven’t seen any letters to the editor in the past few weeks in favor of purchasing Lanier Golf Course, I figured I’d give it a go.

Our business is next door to the wonderful new greenway on Union Hill Road. Over the years, Union Hill has become a popular cut-through from McFarland to Shiloh Road and Hwy 9. We have been located here for many years and have seen the increase in traffic and speed on the road. Letter to the editor
If you haven’t heard, horse manure runs down hill and Forsyth County residents are standing at the bottom. The recent article (“Suitor scoffs at golf offer”) speaks volumes about the under-the-table and secretive nature by which our local politicans operate. There may be some sour grapes on the part of the suitor, Joe Guerra of Canongate, but there is a whole lot of truth to those grapes.




State budget a tough task for lawmakers
What has until this point been a relatively quiet session of the Georgia General Assembly is reaching the final stretch. Thursday will be the 30th day of the 40-day session, which is significant in that bills have to have been passed by one chamber by that date in order to be sent to the other for a final vote.




Crisis looms in funding for education
After a while, the litany of financial problems pouring forth from government entities at every level becomes numbing, leaving us desensitized to the real world impact buried in the woeful numbers being crunched.
