Forsyth library system opens survey for strategic plan feedback

POSTED: March 17, 2017 5:00 a.m.

The Forsyth County Public Library system is in the midst of create a new strategic plan, and officials are asking for input from the community about its services.

The current strategic plan was created to cover 2013 through 2016, said Anna Lyle, director of the four-branch library system, so this new plan will take them into the coming years.

“The library’s updated plan will be created using a community-focused process,” she said. “We’ll be gathering input from library patrons, library staff and local residents who do not currently use the library. We expect that this process will help us match our resources and strengths with the needs and interests of our current and future patrons.”

A survey to provide feedback can be accessed through March 30 through the library’s website at

Community members may also request a paper version at the “Ask Us” desk of any library branch.

“The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete,” Lyle said. “Survey responses will be added to feedback gathered from library staff and other stakeholder groups and be considered throughout the strategic planning process.”

Lyle said it is expected the new plan will be adopted by the library board in May or June.

“This will be the big-picture plan,” she said. “The next step will be to develop a more detailed implementation plan.”
