PREP ROUNDUP: Krupit hits, pitches Lambert softball to victory

A recap of Forsyth County high school sports action

Kassidy Krupit came through for Lambert softball at the plate and on the mound in the Lady Longhorns’ 12-0 victory in four innings over Habersham Central on Thursday at home.

Krupit pitched four shutout innings for Lambert (2-0, 2-0 Region 6-AAAAAA), while scattering four hits and striking out four.

Krupit also went 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including a grand slam.

Forsyth Central 8, North Atlanta 0

The Lady Bulldogs bounced back from their season-opening loss with a mercy-rule, five-inning victory Thursday at home.

Carrlyn Kiser led Central (1-1, 1-1 Region 7B-AAAAA) on the mound with four shutout innings. She allowed just two hits and walked just one batter.

Marisa Hull went 3-for-3 for the Lady Bulldogs, while Devyn Malinzak and Lexi Bump each had two hits.

North Forsyth 7, Northview 4

Sara King struck out eight to help the Lady Raiders hold off the Lady Titans on Thursday on the road.

King got the win for North (2-0, 2-0 Region 6-AAAAAA) allowing five hits and four runs (one earned) with three walks in seven innings.

Haley Simpson went 3-for-4 with three runs and three stolen bases, Autumn Musgraves went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Breena Gwaltney was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

South Forsyth 9, Chattahoochee 0

Kara Bilodeau went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Lady War Eagles to a mercy-rule, five-inning region victory Thursday on the road.

Katherine Huey got the win for South (3-1-1, 1-0 Region 6-AAAAAA) with three shutout innings. Huey also went 1-for-3 with a walk, run scored and RBI.

Sophia Tapia and Stefanie Harris each had two hits and scored a run. Bianca Mora went 1-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored.

West Forsyth 21, Centennial 0

The Lady Wolverines threw a no-hitter in a mercy-ruled, four-inning region victory Thursday at home.


West earns sweep

Taylor Ashcraft had 14 kills, 10 digs and seven aces in the Lady Wolverines’ victories over Forsyth Central (25-18, 25-22) and North Forsyth (23-25, 25-9, 25-16) at Central on Thursday.

West improved to 6-0 on the season.

Chloe Lance had 13 kills and five digs, Savannah Butler had eight kills and Shelby Lance had seven kills.

Caroline Frye had a team-best eight aces, Jordan Leitch had 29 assists and seven aces and Danielle Menningmann added seven digs.

Central splits at home

Emma Gore led the Lady Bulldogs in kills in a victory over North Forsyth (26-24, 25-16) and loss to West Forsyth (18-25, 22-25) on Thursday at home.

Coach Katie Vazquez lauded the leadership of setter Liepa Vaicekaveciute and libero Amber Waddell.
