PREP ROUNDUP: Big inning leads North Forsyth softball to win

A recap of Forsyth County high school sports action

Bailey Rivers had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs to help North Forsyth softball to an 8-4 victory over Chattahoochee on Tuesday at home.

Rivers drove in two runs as part of the Lady Raiders’ 7-run second inning that broke open a tie 1-1 game.

Angelina Coleman went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, while Haley Simpson added two hits.

Amber Jones got the win for North (3-1, 3-0 Region 6-AAAAAA), allowing five hits and two runs in 4 2/3 innings.

South Forsyth 15, Centennial 0

The Lady War Eagles cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory at home Tuesday.

South improved to 5-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the region.

VOLLEYBALL

Central gets swept

LILBURN – Forsyth Central lost two tough matches to Archer (25-22, 23-25, 24-26) and Providence Christian (21-25, 19-25) on Tuesday.

Emma Gore led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 kills, while the team tallied 12 aces.

Horizon handles Westminster

WATKINSVILLE – Kaitlyn Loesel had 12 kills, 21 digs and six aces to lead the Lady Warriors to a 18-25, 25-13, 25-5, 25-14 victory over Westminster Christian on Tuesday.

Evelyn Parker had eight kills and 11 aces, while Cassie Prausa added six kills and 13 digs.

Audrey Clanton had 20 assists and five aces, Tiffany Jackson had a team-best 22 digs and two aces, while Annsley Marks added five kills and Olivia Beals added four aces.

Lambert splits

The Lady Longhorns defeated Chamblee (25-10, 25-14) and lost to Dunwoody (15-25, 25-16, 23-25) in non-area matches Tuesday on the road.

West sweeps

GAINESVILLE – Taylor Ashcraft had 16 kills and 22 digs to lead West Forsyth to wins over North Hall (21-25, 25-19, 25-23) and Lakeview Academy (17-25, 25-16, 25-13) on Tuesday.

Chloe Lance had 19 kills and two aces, while Shelby Lance added nine kills and four blocks.

Jordan Leitch had 29 assists, five kills and four aces.
