PREP ROUNDUP: Seitz powers West Forsyth softball to win

West Forsyth 9, Johns Creek 6

Hayla Seitz went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and two RBIs to lead the Lady Wolverines to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday on the road.

West improved to 3-3 on the season.

Kayla Hardy went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, Bailley Concatto had a single, RBI and two runs scored and Randee Bernstein had a hit and walked three times.

Mandy Thompson got the win for the Lady Wolverines pitching four innings.


Pinecrest splits

The Lady Paladins defeated Pace Academy, 25-15, 25-23, and lost to Mount Paran, 25-18, 25-23, in non-area matches Thursday.

Pinecrest trailed Pace, 19-11, in the second set when senior setter Kristina Smoak led a 9-point serving run. Keely Denkman had a team-high five kills in the match.

Lambert swept

The Lady Longhorns lost a pair of non-area matches to Cambridge (24-25, 25-18, 25-19) and North Gwinnett (25-9, 25-15) on Thursday at home.
