PREP ROUNDUP: Lambert's Huffstetler blasts two home runs in region win

SOFTBALL

Forsyth Central 9, Riverwood 5

SANDY SPRINGS – Carrlyn Kiser did it on the mound and at the plate for the Lady Bulldogs in a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B game Thursday.

Kiser allowed five hits and two earned runs over seven complete innings for the Lady Bulldogs (4-4, 2-2). She went 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs.

Alexa Hull went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Lambert 11, Chattahoochee 0

JOHNS CREEK – Savannah Huffstetler was 3-for-3 with two home runs to lead the Lady Longhorns to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday.

Kassidy Krupit pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just one hit over five innings to earn the win for Lambert (9-1, 6-0).Krupit also went 4-for-4 with a home run, two triples and five RBIs.

Macy Stovall went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

South Forsyth 12, Northview 4

DULUTH – Keira Mell went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Lady War Eagles to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday.

South (7-2-1, 5-1) also got big performances at the plate from Stephanie Harris (3-for-5) and Katherine Huey (3-for-4, 2R).

VOLLEYBALL

Lambert splits tri-match

The Lady Longhorns defeated Milton (25-17, 25-20) and lost to Norcross (25-22, 25-22) in non-area matches Thursday at home.

Savannah Beer led Lambert with six kills against Milton. Kendall Barrett had 16 assists, while Jordyn Moellering added 21 digs.

Barrett led the Lady Longhorns with six kills and five aces in the loss to Norcross. Brie Lancaster had seven aces.

North Forsyth sweeps

The Lady Raiders defeated Flowery Branch (25-16, 25-10) and Lumpkin County (25-13, 25-20) in non-area matches Thursday.

Carlee Praznik led North with five aces and 14 digs against Flowery Branch. Okwunne Ogbogu had seven kills, six blocks and four aces.

Marin Black led the Lady Raiders with eight aces against Lumpkin County.
