Northside Hospital-Forsyth ranked among state’s best

POSTED: June 26, 2014 12:03 a.m.

CUMMING — Northside Hospital-Forsyth has been named one of the top 25 hospitals in the state.

The local facility, along with Northside’s Sandy Springs and Canton sites, has been named to the Chairman’s Category on the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability Core Measures Honor Roll.

Just 25 hospitals in Georgia reached the Chairman’s Category ranking on the honor roll, which is based on clinical data provided by the federal Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Service.

Bob Quattrocchi, president and CEO of Northside Hospital, said he and other leaders of the hospital system were especially pleased to have all three locations reach the highest ranking on the list.

“Throughout the Northside Hospital health care system, we are committed to balancing clinical excellence with safe, high-quality, compassionate care for our patients,” Quattrocchi said in a statement.

“This recognition is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly and continuously to make excellent care even better.”

Through the ranking system, hospitals are required to submit care data to the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Service, which details how well their caregivers adhere to a list of core measures.

These measures are the clinical processes of care that are known to be the most effective methods of treatment for surgical patients and patients who have suffered heart attacks, pneumonia and heart failure.

This year’s honor roll is based on data collected from October 2012 to September 2013.

Northside has been named to the honor roll for more than five years.

Earl V. Rogers, president of the Georgia Hospital Association, said in a statement that the organization was pleased to “again recognize Northside Hospital’s commitment to patient safety.”

“Compliance with these important core measures ensures that every patient receives the best, most effective health care possible.”

Emory Johns Creek Hospital was also named to the Chairman’s Category on the listing, and North Fulton Hospital was named to the second-highest ranking level on the honor roll.
