Following a successful first meeting, International Charter School of Atlanta organizers will hold a second session Saturday to talk about the proposed language school in Forsyth County.

The meeting is set for 1:30 p.m. at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

About 200 interested parents attended last month’s event. Marisa Kashapov, founding board of directors chairwoman, said the second session will offer more information on curriculum, student count and language tracks.

The group plans to submit a formal application to become a charter school in Forsyth by the end of the month.

The school, which would teach Spanish, Mandarin, French and German, as well as English, would be a full-immersion language campus.

Kashapov first planned to open the school in August, pending board approval. However, revised plans call for the school to open in 2014.

The proposed charter school would start by serving kindergarten through eighth-grade students, but could grow to include high school instruction.

Space hasn’t been purchased for a school site. Organizers on the board, which is made up of about 10 parents from Forsyth and surrounding counties, are looking in south Forsyth, near Ga. 400.

Kashapov said those who attended the first meeting will also benefit from the updated and new information shared Saturday.
