North Forsyth residents will have an opportunity to give their commissioner input on Forsyth County’s 20-year land use plan.

On Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., District 4 Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills will host a meeting to discuss updates to the Forsyth County’s comprehensive plan, or Foster Forsyth, at the Coal Mountain community building. Bettina Hammond, the district’s planning board member, county staff and members of the Coal Mountain Overlay Committee will also be on hand.

“It’s just an open house for District 4 for people in the community to come by,” Mills said, “just to ask questions about the comp plan, to look at maps, to look at anything to do with it.”

Foster Forsyth has held community meetings since April 2016, but Mills said she wanted to go back to her constituents to make sure there are no major parts missing.

“It’s to the finish line,” she said. “I’m not looking to start the plan over or undo any of the things all the other 14 meetings have already done, but if we missed something, if there’s some big picture item that we forgot, or we didn’t do or that needs to be relooked at, I don’t want to miss that either.”

The meeting will be an open house, meaning attendees can come and go at their own pace — no formal presentation will be given.

The Coal Mountain community building is located at 3560 Settingdown Road.
