Two arrests in fight at Costco site

Police: Workers clashed over potty break

POSTED: June 26, 2014 4:40 p.m.

CUMMING — Two construction workers face charges for their roles in a fight Tuesday afternoon at the site of the new Costco.

According to Cumming police, Ernesto Gomez Garcia, 49, of Tucker has been charged with aggravated assault, a felony, while 22-year-old Adan Rivera faces one count of battery, a misdemeanor.

Bryan Zimbardi, a spokesman for Cumming police, said three men were involved in “some kind of physical altercation” at the property off Market Place Boulevard and Bald Ridge Marina Road near Ga. 400 at Exit 15.

According to Zimbardi, Garcia cut 21-year-old Jairo Rivera Rodriguez with a trowel, and Rodriguez head-butted him.

In the aftermath, Rodriguez was taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth, where authorities said he received 12 stiches to close a wound from the trowel.

According to Zimbardi, the fight broke out after Rodriguez urinated on the floor of the construction site, angering Garcia.

Rivera, Rodriguez’s brother, then joined in the fight and received minor wounds that did not require a trip to the hospital, Zimbardi said.

Costco is expected to open Aug. 29.

I would assume the police will now check to see if either combatant was in this country unlawfully and if that is the case, an ICE hold would be placed on that person or persons for deportation.

Are you kidding? If these guys are illegal aliens, Obama and the Democrats will send out a marching band to welcome them and then sign them up to vote.
Are you aware that the State of Georgia has now issued more than 12,000 drivers licenses to illegal aliens? Few people are. The press is keeping this very quiet less people get upset.

I detest the fact that this person urinated in the open, the first guy was right to be upset... the men who built my house used my basement as a toilet. I am even more appalled that the only names mentioned in this are Hispanic. I'm hoping that whomever is in charge of this construction site has ensured that the workers are documented. Otherwise, I believe iCE should raid the site. How can the officials here turn a blind eye? If we have an immigration problem, as evidenced here, then I blame those responsible for regulating our laws. But bottom line STOP URINATING IN PUBLIC.
