The Great American Cleanup

NATIONAL KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL

Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest community improvement program, with more than 5 million volunteers and participants every year to create positive change and lasting impact on local communities.

The Great American Cleanup is entering its 20th year.

Through structured service projects, experiential environment education, organized volunteer events and employee engagement opportunities The Great American Cleanup takes place in more than 20,000 communities across the country.

Volunteers across American have returned, on average, $175 million in measurable benefits over the past 5 years.

Affiliates and participating organizations coordinate events and programs to renew parks, trails and recreation areas; clean shorelines and waterways, remove litter and debris; reduce waste and increase recycling and plant trees, flowers and community gardens are some of the more than 40,000 events annually to inspire a new generation of community stewards.

The Great FoCo Cleanup is an annual litter cleanup event held locally in conjunction with the nationwide Great American Cleanup.

Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) encourages everyone to celebrate Earth Day by helping remove litter from the community’s roadways.

Residents of Forsyth County can organize a team of volunteers — or come as an individual and take part in the Great FoCo Cleanup.

Another way to participate is bringing your pickup truck following the event to help collect the trash from the morning cleanup.

To be part of The Great FoCo Cleanup community organizations, families, businesses or clubs will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 21, the day before Earth Day, to begin with a rally at the Cumming Fairgrounds Arena. Participants will take part in cleaning up roadways in our community.

After the cleanup everyone will return to the Cumming Fairgrounds Arena for food and fun.
