Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton was pleased with the results of a surprise seat belt check at Forsyth Central High School.
The school’s Students Against Destructive Decisions, or SADD, group and deputies from the sheriff’s Special Operations Division conducted the check Tuesday morning.
Paxton said in a statement that the results were “outstanding.”
“This is the last week of school for approximately 34,000 Forsyth County students and we want to make sure that each and every one has a safe and happy summer,” he said.
Of the 144 vehicles that were stopped, Paxton said just two drivers were not buckled up.
In addition, only one of 86 passengers checked was not wearing a seat belt.
