During its meeting Thursday night, the Forsyth County commission withdrew an application for a conditional use permit for a dog training business with kennels on Dogwood Lane.

The applicant requested the withdrawal. A vote on the contested matter had been postponed at the two previous meetings.

Also during the meeting, the commission:

• Appointed Jim Kinsey as the District 2 member of the Forsyth County Zoning Board of Appeals to fill a vacancy.

Kinsey previously served as the District 4 appointee in a term that ended Dec. 31.

• Approved a conditional use permit for senior housing on a commercially zoned property on James Burgess Road for Pod Z Partners.

• Adopted a resolution in support of the Values and Guiding Principles of Public Procurement as written by the National Institute of Government Purchasing.

The values include accountability, ethics, impartiality, professionalism, service and transparency.

Note: All votes were 5-0 unless otherwise noted.
