Belk in Cumming is looking for local charities interested in taking part in its Fall Charity Sale on Nov. 7.

The four-hour, in-store shopping event offers a fundraising opportunity for participating nonprofit organizations and a chance for customers to support charities and enjoy discounts on purchases.

In return for a $5 donation, customers receive a ticket to the sale, set for 6 to 10 a.m. Nov. 7, and entitling them to discounts ranging from 15 to 50 percent on purchases, including special savings on rarely discounted brands.

Customers also receive $5 off their first purchase of $5 or more, and Belk cardholders will receive double points for card purchases.

Participating local charities sell tickets in advance and get to keep the proceeds from those sales.

Beginning Oct. 30, tickets may also be bought at the store, with all donations divided among the participating charities.

There is no limit on ticket sales or the amount of money raised. Belk provides tickets and materials at no cost to the participating groups.

In addition, customers can register to win one of three $1,000 Belk shopping sprees. All participating charities and schools are eligible to win one of three $1,000 donations.

Charities interested in taking part in the fundraiser should contact Jen Cole at the local store, (770) 889-5998, Ext. 203.

In order to participate, organizations must have an IRS 501(c)(3) designation.
