Like many moms-to-be, Stacy Kent of Forsyth County felt a bit overwhelmed at first.

"When I found out I was having kids, I took a break from everything for a while," said Kent, owner of Kent Events in south Forsyth.

"I was 30 when I had my first and then 16 months later, I had the second," she said, adding that the experience was like becoming part of "a huge club."

Now the mother of Jackson, 2, and Kenzie, 11 months, Kent said parenting is "absolutely amazing, but it was pretty overwhelming too."

Before taking time off to become a mom, she had run Wishes, an event planning company specializing in small-scale events such as birthday parties.

The company later grew to take on larger gatherings, such as weddings and corporate events. At that time, she and husband Jon changed the name to Kent Events.

About a year ago, Kent said she "woke up one morning and realized" the couple had "become parents and had lots of questions."

"I realized I needed a way to integrate my passion for being a parent with my passion for events," she said. "I wanted to provide a forum for parents like us to come together and get answers to their questions."

After planning and working since March, Kent's dream will come to fruition this weekend in the form of Parents Palooza.

Held at the Cobb Galleria, the event Saturday and Sunday will feature "all things parent."

"The great thing about the event is it's designed by parents for parents," Kent said.

Parents Palooza will feature everything from information on education and entertainment to breast feeding and day care.

"We have tried to make it for parents of all ages and families at all stages," Kent said. "There'll be information, resources and a lot of fun."

And Kent still has need for assistance both days.

"We want to put out the call out for volunteers," she said.
