CUMMING — Despite some damp weather Saturday, organizers said the Taste of Forsyth Along the Hospitality Highway was a success.

Peter Jezerinac, one of the event organizers, said the gathering drew 21 restaurants providing a range of food samples, from Jamaican and Italian fare to barbecue and sweets.

More than 10,000 people attended the festival, which also included a kids’ zone and three Easter egg hunts for different ages. Jezerinac said more than 25,000 eggs were put out for the hunts.

Prizes were also awarded to the following restaurants: Tam’s Backstage, for best appetizer; Baba’s Gyro and Kabob, best entrée; Marie’s Italian Deli, best dessert; Rio Balsas, best presentation; and Blue Mountain Coffee Roasters, best decorated tent.
