FORSYTH COUNTY — Forsyth County is rapidly changing, as are its health care needs.

With that in mind, the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce holds an annual health care summit to evaluate issues in the community.

This year’s event is set for 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

“With our economy growing, with our community growing, health care is one of our fastest growing sectors,” said Jason Mock, the chamber’s director of small business services.

“We also want to emphasize how we can grow our health care market and make it better for our medical community as well as for our patients.”

Past topics have included the Affordable Healthcare Act and obesity, according to Mock.

“This year we decided that we wanted to cover what the future of health care in Forsyth County is going to be,” he said, adding that the summit is also opportunity to learn about health and how it can affect businesses.

“We also want to help promote healthier lives in Forsyth County through advocacy and leadership and educational series for our practice managers and our physicians. We also wanted to have an opportunity to speak to the general public or business community about a topic that could affect them.”

Admission is $15 for chamber members, and $30 for non-members.
