CUMMING — The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce says it’s time to recognize the big people who run small businesses.

Nominations for this year’s Business Awards program can be submitted to the chamber through Friday.

Small businesses, generally defined as those having 500 or fewer employees, make up a large percentage of the nation’s employers, officials say.

The annual program is an effort to support entrepreneurship in the community by offering “well-deserved recognition to small businesses for their achievement and contributions.”

Selected small-businesses owners will have the opportunity to showcase their companies, share their stories and be rewarded for the work.

Community members can nominate a client, vendor or their own business.

Winners will be announced April 30 during the 2015 Businesses Awards Breakfast.

Last year’s award winners included, among others, Morrow Family Medicine, The Villas at Canterfield, Gratitude Goodies and North Georgia Replacement Windows.
