A Forsyth County resident was recently recognized for his work with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

John Sungail, the training specialist for District 1, which serves 21 counties in northeast Georgia, received the monthly Commissioner’s Customer Service Commendation.

DOT Commissioner Keith Golden presented the honor to Sungail, who has worked for the department since 2004.

According to Golden, Sungail exhibits all of the department’s customer service goals by providing helpful, courteous, accessible, responsive and knowledgeable assistance.

“In a time when we must do more with less, John excels,” Golden said. “While providing internal training classes, he is updating a series of ‘quick tutorials’ he wrote for on-demand use when staff cannot attend a scheduled training session.”

Golden went on to note that Sungail also helps with the district’s information and technology needs.

“John’s attitude about his work and the results of his work have improved the service provided by [human resources], training and development.”
