SOUTH FORSYTH — Anyone planning to buy or sell a home may want to plan on attending an upcoming expo.

The Georgia 400 North Board of Realtors will present its first Homeownership Expo from 1 to 7 p.m. April 24 at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

While the organization has had previous expos geared toward those in the real estate field, president Laury Gardner said members wanted to offer something with a farther reach this year.

“As the market continues to recover, it is time to partner with area consumers and provide them with the education they need to prepare to sell or buy a home,” she said in a statement.

More than 40 home-focused vendors will have booths at the event.

There also will be several workshops on topics such as overviews of the current real estate markets in Forsyth, Dawson and Lumpkin counties, set for 3:45 to 4:30 p.m., and design ideas from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m.

Other workshops targeted more specifically for those in real estate business, include “Building Relationships with Clients” from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m., and “Apps for Realtors” from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m.

There will also be a panel discussion from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. covering areas such as appraisals, landscaping, inspections and renovations.

From 4 to 6 p.m., several area restaurants will provide samples and there will be a number of activities provided throughout the day to entertain children.

Drawings will be held at the end of each educational session, and tickets for a 50/50 raffle will be sold throughout the event.

According to the organization’s Website, the expo “offers a wide variety of business products, services and educational seminars … providing excellent networking opportunities to all who participate.”

The event is free, but those planning to attend are asked to R.S.V.P. at
