Free skin cancer screenings will be available at Northside Hospital-Forsyth later this month.
From 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 24, screenings will be held at the hospital’s cancer center, where attendees will be given skin assessments by medical professionals.
It is estimated that more than 2,000 cases of melanoma will be diagnosed in Georgia this year, according to a news release from the hospital.
Hospital officials said the screening should not replace regular skin exams with a specialist.
Registration is currently open, and attendees are recommended to wear shorts and a t-shirt.
Appointments are required and can be made by calling (404) 531-4444.
The hospital is located at 1100 Northside Forsyth Drive.
