A Cumming eatery is seeking community support for two outreach projects.

The Chick-fil-A at Lanier Crossing has recently become a collection site for Cell Phones for Soldiers, a national project that collects used cell phones to be refurbished and given to soldiers serving overseas.

Each soldier is also provided a month of calling time.

Restaurant owner Mike Ridzon said in a statement that the program "sounds like a great way" to put unused, old cell phones back into operation.

In addition, the restaurant is offering a separate effort called "Nugget Trays for Boys" in support of the Bald Ridge Boys Lodge, a local shelter for boys who have been displaced from their homes.

Through the effort, customers who mention they support the lodge can have 10 percent of the sale of any size chicken nugget tray donated to the facility.

For more information on either program, contact the restaurant at (770) 781-5256.
