FORSYTH COUNTY -- If you’re looking for a job, a job might be looking for you.

On Tuesday, the Georgia Department of Labor will be hosting the North Georgia Career Fair Lanier Technical College’s Forsyth Conference Center. The event will run from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. and is open to anyone in the area looking for a new job.

“We’ve got over 60 employers coming for a regional job fair,” Forsyth County Conference Center Director Sara Harrison. “They’ll be accepting résumés and talking with perspective employers about the different positions that they’ll have listed.”

Harrison said she didn’t know all of the companies coming out to the event, but companies from all over the region would be there.

“I don’t have a complete list of all the employers, but in the past we have had everything from Georgia Power to some of the schools that are hiring,” she said. “It’s been a variety of different types of employers and different types of positions that they’re looking for.”

“This is a regional job fair, and the region is north Georgia, Dahlonega, Gainesville, all the way down to the Forsyth and Alpharetta locations.”

The event will give job seekers an opportunity to meet face to face with several employers and Harrison said she recommended bringing several cover letters and résumés.

“There’s not going to be any seminars or things like that available, but you’ll have one on one time with each of the employers to ask any questions about their positions as well as leaving résumés and a cover letter with any employers that you’re interested in,” she said.

She also recommended that attendees dress to impress and have a couple of questions for the companies.

“I would make sure that you are dressed in business dress as you would for a regular interview,” Harrison said. “Be prepared with a cover letter and a completed résumé and come with plenty or copies to distribute to the employers you’re interested in and plan for knowing a few questions you want to ask.”
