CUMMING — A Cumming eatery will celebrate its anniversary by giving to a worthy cause.
Tam’s Backstage, inside the lower level of the Cumming Playhouse at 101 School St., will again hold an anniversary fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
This year’s buffet-style dinner, featuring many of the restaurant’s signature items, such as tilapia piccata and chicken mushroom marsala, will celebrate the ninth anniversary of the eatery.
Every year since opening in 2005, Tam’s Backstage has presented an anniversary event with all proceeds benefitting a different local charitable cause.
“We’re always happy to give back to the community that supports us,” manager Brian Tam said of the fundraiser.
This year’s beneficiary is the United Way of Forsyth County, which provides funding and other support to a wide range of community nonprofits and agencies.
For the past couple of years, the dinner has supported Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, first with funding for its pediatric ambulance and last year with support for a new autism testing device.
Other years have supported various other local causes.
Tickets to the dinner are $25 and can be purchased at the door. A cash bar will also be available.
