CUMMING — Sprouts Farmers Market confirmed last week that the opening of a Cumming location is on track for early next year.

According to a news release from the Arizona-based fresh concept grocer, the local store is one of seven scheduled to open across the country and the only one in Georgia. Each will bring an estimated 100 jobs to their respective communities.

The Cumming site was originally scheduled to open this year, but was delayed in the spring so the company could focus its efforts on preparing stores in Dunwoody, Johns Creek, Norcross and Snellville.

The local Sprouts is slated to occupy the former Stein Mart department store site in Lakeland Plaza.
