Week later, south Forsyth massage parlors still closed

SOUTH FORSYTH — In the week following a sweep of unauthorized massage parlors across south Forsyth, officials say the businesses that were cited but not closed have not accepted customers since.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies conducted ordinance checks March 11 on nearly half of the county’s massage parlors, citing the ones that refused to bring their business into compliance with a new county code.

Among other items, the ordinance prohibits beds, windows from being tinted black or covered and customers from entering and exiting via a back door.

The locations have been the sites of prostitution and trafficking in surrounding jurisdictions, and several business owners have past charges from other counties, according to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Cpl. Robin Regan.

Of the 15 checked, 11 parlors were issued a total of 18 citations. Five were permanently closed. They include:

* Jasmine Spa, 2336 Atlanta Hwy.

* Fine Touch, 6320 Atlanta Hwy.

* Top Sauna, 1408 Atlanta Hwy.

* Sun Sauna, 1408 Atlanta Hwy.

* BMB Sauna, 1525 McFarland Parkway

Each displays a bright green, poster-sized sticker declaring it closed by the sheriff’s office.

Those cited but allowed to remain open were told they were subject to the same citations every day they accept customers without correcting the violations.

Massage parlors in that category include:

* Massage One, 1614 Peachtree Pkwy.

* Harmony Massage, 2130 Peachtree Pkwy.

* Health Massage, 1240 Buford Road

* Massage Angel, 655 Atlanta Road

* Sunset Massage, 1595 Peachtree Pkwy.

“This is an operation that we’re not going to just stop after one day,” Regan said. “We’re going to continue and make sure these businesses do not operate illegally and do illegal activities in Forsyth County.

“If they can become legitimate business, obviously we’re OK with that.”
